High Pressure Valves?

High pressure valves are used in a variety of industries, from global oil production to aerospace production. In fact, they are found in almost every system or line and operate reliably against system pressures. Normally, what is meant as high pressure valve are pressure classes including PN63 ( DIN ) or Class600 (ANSI ) and above. Actually, the term High pressure is perceived differently in the valve industry. For example, systems with low pressure such as 15-20 bar bar are called high pressure. . The difference with Low Pressure comes from the design features, which is made according to the fluid pressure and temperature, for example the valve wall thickness or the material is selected according to the dbe variables.

Generally speaking, there are the following types of high pressure valves; Let’s take a look at each of them.

Relief or Safety: Valves operate under a preset set pressure. This setpoint is a function of the forces that the system must produce to do the required work; if these forces are not controlled or limited, they can damage (sometimes extremely) expensive equipment and fluid power components. Relief or Safety valves act as protections that limit the maximum pressure by venting excess pressure from the system when pressures become too high.

Pressure Reducing: Pressure reducers are the most practical solution when it comes to maintaining pressure in a system or even lower. These are the only high pressure valves on this list that stay open and closed when subjected to a pressure below the set pressure. They come in two types: direct-acting and pilot-operated.

Control: In some systems or lines, they are used for proportional or open-close tasks only, which valves have an actuator. (Like Pneumatic). These systems are used with Controller, Solenoid, Positioner and various Sensors

Shut Down : These high pressure valves are generally used manually or with actuator to protect the line from possible dangers and isolate the after-valve from the system.

Whether you need a ball valve or a gate valve, finding the right valve for the job is essential in high pressure situations for safety, the Environment and human health.
